This page is served by the same platform as the rest of the site, so an outage there takes it down too. The nameservers are not on that platform - they run on separate providers, in separate networks - and they keep answering while this page is unavailable.

It also depends on them the other way round: this address is resolved by those same nameservers, so if they stop, this page cannot be reached either - however healthy the platform serving it is.

So we keep a second status page on infrastructure we do not run, under a name our nameservers do not resolve, so it stays up when this one does not: status.dnsmint.dev.
